Rev Dr Cathie Lambert

Rev Dr Cathie Lambert is a committed member of the Uniting Church since 1981, Cathie is a Minister of the Word with extensive experience across theological education and ministry formation. She currently serves as Director of Pastoral Theology and Ministry Practice with Uniting College for Leadership and Theology in South Australia. As part of this role she co-ordinates the Leadership Formation Days for Phase 2 candidates and other ministry agents. Cathie’s previous role was the Formation and Learning Culture Co-ordinator for the Presbytery of Western Australia. In this role, she collaborated widely with other Synods and Theological Colleges, bringing deep insight into the joys and challenges of theological education across the Church. Cathie completed her PhD in Practical Theology in 2022 and has taught theology at tertiary colleges while also serving as Program Director for the Dayspring Community’s spiritual director training until recently.

Cathie serves as Chair of the Commission for Theology, Formation and Leadership. She brings a contemplative and creative style to the Commission, fostering prayerful collaboration and openness to new possibilities. She hopes the Commission can take a broad, strategic view of the needs of the Uniting Church, developing processes that are equitable, resource-wise, and future-focused, enabling the Church to respond creatively to emerging opportunities.
