Elizabeth John is a lay member with a strong academic background in theology. Her thesis, A Promising Theology, argues that contemporary theology is limited by the marginalisation of certain voices, constraining its potential at a time when deep theological insight is most needed. She currently serves as a Hospital Chaplain at The Wesley Hospital (UnitingCare Queensland) and is a former candidate for ordained ministry with the Queensland Synod.
Elizabeth describes her theological study as “equal parts wild ride, academic discipline, and deep personal transformation,” bringing both intellectual rigour and personal insight to her ministry and spiritual formation within the Church.
