Rev Lindsay Cullen serves as Assembly Associate General Secretary, leading the Assembly Resourcing Unit, a team of Assembly employees who undertake this work as part of their broader responsibilities on behalf of the Assembly.
A Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church since 2003, Lindsay has served in rural, regional, and urban contexts, with a major focus on adult education and lay ministry training. He spent five years in London studying Philosophical Theology, during which he gained extensive ecumenical experience, including Lay Reader training and Continuing Ministerial Education seminars for the Diocese of Rochester, and a year as Visiting Minister with a congregation of the United Reformed Church. Originally ordained by the Baptist Union of NSW, Lindsay joined the Uniting Church through the Reception of Ministers process.
Lindsay has a particular interest in exploring new ways of being Church, including engagement with the Fresh Expressions movement in the UK and involvement with emerging local church groups and faith communities. He combines this vision for the future of the Church with his commitment to adult education to support congregations and councils in planning for the ongoing journey of discipleship in the 21st century and beyond.
