Anton van Bavel has served as a member of Synod, Presbytery, and Church Council, giving him a multi-level perspective on church governance. He was actively involved in South Australia’s transition from a single Presbytery/Synod model to three presbyteries, including service on the inaugural Standing Committee of the Presbytery of Southern SA. Anton was later appointed to a Synod task group reviewing Presbytery operations and currently serves as Chair. Professionally, he has worked in Federal politics and also as Governance Officer for UnitingCare SA, providing valuable insight into Synod relationships with agencies and schools.
