Rev Dr Jason Kioa, ordained as Minister of the Word in the Vic/Tas Synod in 1990, is a passionate advocate for multicultural ministry within the Uniting Church. He has extensive leadership experience, including serving as Moderator of the Vic/Tas Synod (2006–2009) and membership on five Assembly Standing Committees over 18 years. Jason has contributed to church governance through participation on school councils, including Aitken College VICTAS and Newington College NSW/ACT, and as a long-term chair of the Tongan National Conference for 15 years. He currently serves as Chair of the Pastoral Relations Committee for Sydney Presbytery and as a member of the Synod Selection Conference in NSW/ACT, contributing to the formation of candidates for ministry. Jason is now serving as Presbytery Minister Team Leader for Sydney Presbytery as it transitions into Central Presbytery NSWACT Synod.
Jason also serves on the NSW/ACT Synod Board, bringing a deep understanding of multicultural ministry, leadership formation, and church governance. His work across congregational, presbytery, and national levels enables him to provide insight and guidance on equipping leaders and fostering inclusive communities throughout the Uniting Church.
