Rev. Ken Sumner is a Kukabrak Ngarrindjeri man from the River, Lakes, Coorong and Southern Ocean regions of south-east South Australia. A minister of the Uniting Church in Australia, Ken has devoted much of his ministry to the work and witness of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC).
Ken has served across several Synods, including South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania, and the Northern Synod, and has also worked ecumenically with the National Council of Churches in Australia as National Executive Officer of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ecumenical Commission (NATSIEC).
He currently serves as Development Officer for the UAICC in South Australia and as National Co-Chair of the National UAICC, contributing deep cultural, pastoral and leadership experience to the life of the Church.
